01 // THE PROJECT
Overview
Every story has a station.
JoeTv explores a more social way to keep track of what you watch. Instead of treating viewing history as a solitary list, it brings the film, the evening, and the people on the sofa together in one shared diary.
The project borrows the language and personality of an entertainment network: watch clubs become stations, viewing entries become broadcasts, and each station has its own identity and archive. It is a published alpha, with the product and its workflows still taking shape.
A place for your watch club
Create a station with its own name, artwork, and visibility. Keep a watch club private, make it discoverable, or open it up to others. The station becomes a home for the things you watch together.
Remember the viewing, not just the title
Log movies and series with a date, viewing progress, and the people who joined. Hosts can confirm participants, and viewers can claim an entry with ‘I was there.’ Personal history brings confirmed viewings together across stations.
Built for the web
The application uses Next.js and React with TypeScript. Supabase supports accounts and shared records, while a TMDB integration provides movie and series search and artwork. The visual direction draws on television stations and broadcast archives.
