01 // THE PROJECT
Overview
Shared costs. A clearer picture.
Delat is an experiment in making everyday shared expenses easier to understand. It focuses on a household of two: record what each person paid, decide who is responsible for the cost, and see how the month balances out.
The interface brings monthly totals, each person’s contributions, and a settlement summary into one view. It is a published alpha exploring a focused household workflow rather than a finished financial product.
One household, two perspectives
Create a household and invite a partner with a join code. Each person has a profile, while the shared expense record keeps both views connected.
Know who paid and what was shared
Add expenses with a date, category, payer, and optional notes. Split a cost equally or assign responsibility to one person. Monthly navigation and payer filters make it easier to review the details behind the totals.
From entries to a monthly balance
The summary compares payments with each person’s share and calculates a settlement amount. Amounts are handled in öre and displayed in Swedish kronor. Delat records and calculates expenses; it does not move money.
Built for the web
The application uses Next.js, React, and TypeScript, with Supabase for authentication and household data. Zod validates expense input. The product is intentionally focused on a small, understandable monthly workflow.
